Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is designed to target chronic muscle tension and deeper layers of connective tissue. Using slow, firm pressure, this technique works into tight, restricted areas to break up adhesions (knots) and improve mobility.

This is ideal for:

  • Chronic neck and back pain
  • Muscle tightness or stiffness
  • Injury recovery
  • Athletes or active individuals

You may feel some soreness afterward, similar to a workout—but most patients notice significant relief and improved movement within 24–48 hours.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is the most well-known and widely used massage technique. It focuses on relaxation, circulation, and overall wellness using long, smooth strokes combined with light to moderate pressure.

This is ideal for:

  • Stress relief
  • General muscle tension
  • Improving circulation
  • First-time massage patients

If you’re looking to relax, unwind, and feel refreshed, Swedish massage is a great place to start.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is a more active, movement-based therapy that combines assisted stretching, compression, and rhythmic pressure. Often described as “lazy yoga,” this technique can be performed with the patient fully clothed and involves guided stretching to improve flexibility and joint mobility.

This is ideal for:

  • Improving flexibility and range of motion
  • Reducing stiffness
  • Active individuals or athletes
  • Patients who prefer a more dynamic treatment

You’ll leave feeling looser, more mobile, and energized.

Ashiatsu Massage

Ashiatsu massage is a deep, broad-pressure technique where the therapist uses their feet (while supported by overhead bars) to apply consistent, controlled pressure. This allows for deeper work without the sharp discomfort sometimes associated with traditional deep tissue methods.

This is ideal for:

  • Deep muscle tension
  • Larger muscle groups (back, hips, legs)
  • Patients who want deep pressure with less discomfort
  • Chronic pain or tightness

Because the pressure is more evenly distributed, many patients find ashiatsu to be both highly effective and surprisingly relaxing.

Myofascial Cupping Add-On

Myofascial cupping is a specialized soft tissue therapy designed to help relieve muscle tension, improve mobility, and support recovery. Using gentle suction cups placed on the skin, this technique helps lift and decompress tight fascia and muscles rather than applying direct pressure alone. Many patients find cupping helpful for areas of chronic tightness, soreness, stiffness, and restricted movement.

At Frankum Chiropractic, myofascial cupping is offered as an add-on service and is often combined with massage therapy to help improve overall results. Treatments are customized to each patient’s comfort level and goals.

Benefits may include:

  • Reduced muscle tension and tightness
  • Improved circulation and mobility
  • Decreased soreness and stiffness
  • Enhanced recovery and relaxation
  • Improved tissue flexibility and movement

Temporary circular marks or redness can occur after treatment and are a normal response that typically fades within several days.
